Expressions of congratulation celebrate significant achievements such as winning a competition, graduating, or earning a promotion. They are often paired with wishes for continued success ('Congratulations on your winning! I am so proud of you.').

Compliments express admiration for someone's appearance, hard work, performance, or possessions ('What a wonderful performance!', 'You did an incredible job!'). Students role-play real-life communicative scenarios and design elegant greeting cards.
